About Us

TFAS is a community-led self-governing society run entirely by voluntary effort. The Society brings together a diverse group of enthusiastic gardeners and growers across all ages and ethnicities. Our plot holders develop a strong sense of connection to the land that they cultivate and the community they have joined. They run the Society, take part in workdays, organise community events and support one another to work their plots. Strong connections are built through WhatsApp groups, workdays, social events and the prevailing ethos of sharing knowledge and experience which dissolves barriers of age, gender and ethnicity.

The Society is run by a Committee of ten people in accordance with a Management Agreement signed with LB Merton. The Committee manages and maintains the three adjacent sites, lets plots, collects rent and other charges and arranges a variety of social and practical activities that help to knit the members of the Society together.
