On Sunday 26th April 10.30am – 16.00pm we’ll be having another Hedgerow Planting and Wild Flower Sowing Day!
After the success last year, we are planting up more areas by the boundary fence with a native hedgerow – good for wildlife and also security.
We were fortunate to get enough free flower seeds from Grow Wild to be able to create areas of meadows in front of the hedgerows as well as making sure plot holders have wild flower seeds for their plots too. The wild flowers will encourage beneficial wildlife – pollinators like bees, hoverflies, butterflies and moths.
The seeds for the Giant Pumpkin competition being held in July have now been sown and will be available for purchase (£1) at the event. All entries will be marked at the Summer Vegetable Growing Competition
Looking forward to another good turnout of plot holders to help improve our site.
