Tamworth Farm Allotment Society offers the following concessions in our rent if plot holders meet the criteria below:
- Over 60 years of age who are not in paid employment; or
- Unemployed and in receipt of benefits; or
If plot holders believe they meet any of these criteria, they should inform the Lettings Officer when they take on the plot or contact the Membership Secretary if they already hold a plot. Where is plot is jointly held, both plot holders need to meet one of the criteria. If granted, the concession offers a 30% reduction in the price of the rent per rod of land rented.
The Lettings/ Membership Officer will ask to see evidence of eligibility. Once the evidence has been seen, the concession will be granted from that date forward. Retrospective concessions will not be applied. We appreciate that evidence of eligibility can be sensitive (for example, documents related to health or financial circumstances) and once seen, will not be retained by Tamworth Farm Allotment Society. Once granted, the concession will remain in place; it is not necessary to re-apply annually. However, where circumstances change, for example, a plot holder enters employment, they should inform the Membership Officer immediately.
